An Abu Dhabi-based OFW has sought the help of a relative in PH to ensure her two children continues learning within the new normal, even without gadgets.
Julita Mendez, a domesitc helper based in Abu Dhabi shared a video of her two kids – Clhoe (9) and Yuhla (7) who are in 4th and 2nd grade respectively, on how they dmanage to convert part of their home in Antipolo, Rizal. into a makeshift classroom.
“Hindi sila naka online class kasi mahirap daw kami makabitan ng internet connection dahil malayo daw kami sa kalsada. We decided na mag-module sa tulong ng pinsan ng aking asawa,” said Mendez.

In the video, the two kids have shown how quick they learned their numbers and reading comprehension with the help of her husband’s cousin – Jeszie Campomanes.
“Siya ang tumayong guro na gagabay sa aking dalawang estudyante na kasalukuyang nag-aaral ngayon ng module. Maayos naman nilang naitatawid ang pang araw araw na aralin at matyaga nya itong natuturuan. Natututu namn po kasi hands on talaga sa kanila pinsan ng aking asawa,” adds Mendez.
The Abu Dhabi-based domestic helper continues to ensure her support by keeping tabs with her children through chat and financial needs to help her family through this new normal in learning.
“Sa part ko naman po dahil wala nga po akong pang video call because of wala naman po ako pang VPN dahil sa kakulangan sa monthly income so thru chat na lang po and support all their needs na lang po ako,” said Mendez.
