With an aim to bring the Philippine ‘terno’ in the modern fashion scene, a conceptual fashion designer has launched his brand, MARCOpilipino.

“Terno is a representation of how Filipinos evolve through time,” Marc told GMA News Online adding national dress has changed “from the Spanish era up to the modern age”.
Marc is in hope that Philippine terno would be loved as he works to make his designs clean and breathable for a comfortable wearing.
He added that he wants to innovate but the tradition must still be incorporated so that the dress would be immediately recognized as Philippine terno.
At present, Marc is using breathable tweed fabric and linen to create them but plans to incorporate Philippine textile to solidify his advocacy, as per GMA News report.
Marc admitted that he was hesitant at first “especially hearing unintentional negative comments and criticisms” but he took it as a challenge and made it as his motivation to pursue his craft.
“I know my core. I am a Filipino. I am resilient and creative,” he said.
His terno tops are made to order ranging from P4,000 to P5,000.
