Dubai salon offers free haircuts to domestic helpers

A Dubai salon is on a mission to give free haircuts to nannies and helpers to make them feel beautiful and confident.

“That Hair Tho,” which is located at Jumeirah Lake Towers, started giving free haircuts three days ago.

The salon has already given haircuts to 10 nannies.

“We give back to the community and to give a nice experience to the nannies,” Kate Darling, the salon’s owner told Khaleej Times.

Darling said the free haircut has received great feedbacks and reactions.

“We started this initiative because we wanted them to feel great and let them know that we appreciate all that they do for us,” she added.

Free haircuts will be given to nannies until September.

“I think it’s important for everyone in the UAE to support each other while we are away from our families. Our nannies give us so much support while we are away from our families, helping us with our children and our homes,” Darling said.

Loreta Reyes, a Filipina nanny in Dubai ,also told Khaleej Times it feels great to be appreciated.

“We had a great time at ‘That Hair Tho’ and they did a lovely haircut for me. I was very happy with it. Thank you to everyone and I hope more nannies go along.”
