The night indeed held hope for fans of both English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and Filipino indie folk-pop band Ben&Ben as they shared the stage of the SMDC Concert Grounds in Parañaque on Saturday, March 9, performing one of the latter’s hit songs “Maybe The Night.”

Ed Sheeran visited the Philippines for the Manila leg of his ‘Mathematics’ tour, featuring opening acts by Ben&Ben and another British artist, Calum Scott.

The nine-piece band sang several of their popular songs such as “Kathang-Isip,” “Araw-Araw,” and “Leaves,” among others. To their surprise, fans were delighted by another famous song, “Maybe The Night,” which they performed alongside Sheeran.

Miguel and Paolo Benjamin, the band’s vocalists, expressed gratitude for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share the stage with one of their musical heroes.

“Last night, Ed Sheeran sang our song Maybe the Night in his set and asked us to jam with him. It felt like a dream. Unreal 😭” Miguel wrote on Instagram.

“Thank you for having such a generous heart in sharing your stage, @teddysphotos. You’ve been a huge blessing and inspiration to so many musicians and fans, us included! This will forever be deep within our core memories,” he added.

Ahead of the concert, Sheeran also shared a video of a “backstage karaoke session” with Ben&Ben.

“Karaoke is a huge thing here in the Philippines, so I found a portable machine to wheel around backstage before the show tonight in Manila. Shout out to @benandbenmusic and @calumscott for bringing the A game,” Sheeran wrote on Instagram.
