Robi Domingo’s grandmother passes away on the day of his wedding

Robi Domingo shared a mix of joy and sorrow on January 6, as he revealed that his grandmother had passed away on the same day as his wedding. Despite the festivities lasting from morning preps to a late-night reception, Domingo’s family kept the news from him until after the celebration.

Domingo, who affectionately called his grandmother “Ina,” expressed gratitude for the day but was met with heartbreak upon learning about the loss.

In his Instagram post, he fondly remembered her care during his toddler years and highlighted her special culinary creations, including ube halaya and Leche flan sa llanera.

In a touching farewell, Domingo said, “Rest in peace, ina. Please look after us together with ama. Thank you, and we love you. ❤️” The unexpected turn of events added a poignant note to Domingo’s wedding day, making it a mix of celebration and mourning.

In the comments section, Domingo shared that the past few days had been a “rollercoaster ride” for them. He apologized for the delay in expressing gratitude, stating, “Our hearts are happy, but we apologize for the delay. We’ll just take a breather from all the happenings.”

Condolences poured in from fans and fellow celebrities.

Domingo and his spouse tied the knot at the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of San Isidro Labrador in Bulacan.
