Award-winning Dubai-based Filipino fashion designer Michael Cinco stunned the international crowds of the recently-held LA Fashion Week with his latest collection the ‘Impalpable Dream of Peace’.
Cinco, recipient of The Filipino Times Awards 2015 Rizal Awardee and Fashion Designer of the Year, described his latest collection as something that inspires and promotes peace with its central white theme.
“The inspiration is very relevant to what’s happening in the world right now – this immaculate white collection is a timely celebration of all that we strive amid these chaotic times. It is akin to the release of white doves that is symbolic of peace, love, and new beginnings. It transcends cultures and traditions. It is inclusive and most of all, it is born out of love,” said Cinco in an interview with The Filipino Times.
Cinco likewise expressed his sincerest gratitude to fellow Filipinos who have wholeheartedly supported his show on LA Fashion Week’s runway – some of who even travelled all the way from other states just to see his show.
“It’s an honor for me to showcase my new collection in LA Fashion Week supported by a lot of Filipino friends and clients in the US. Some Filipinos even travelled from New York, Miami and Las Vegas just to watch my show. I feel so proud and humbled. I’m very thankful to one of the organizers of LA Fashion Week who is also a Filipino my dear friend ERROL ISIP for inviting me here in Los Angeles. I’m very grateful and happy,” said Cinco.
He also shared that his collection was praised not just by Filipinos, it was also highly regarded by audiences from other parts of the world.
“It feels amazing specially when your works are appreciated and celebrated by other nationalities as well,” said Cinco.
