Diamond star Maricel Soriano has recalled her life’s darkest chapter.
The veteran actress admitted that there was a point in her life where she lost direction but eventually was given a second chance.
Maricel said that the dark period started when her mother died due to cardiac arrest on July 19, 2009.

“Hindi ko matanggap. Nakalimutan kong mag-escape. Ibang escape ang napuntahan ko. Napunta ako sa escape na gloomy, masalimuot, madilim. Mag-isa ka lang. Hindi maganda. Malungkot ako para sa sarili ko,” Maricel said on her Youtube channel.
Maricel did not exactly reveal what she’d been through.
“Hindi ako magiging ganito kung di ko dinaanan ‘yon. Naiiyak ako dahil hindi talaga maganda ang pinuntahan ko,” she said.
“Hindi ko alam kung paano ako mabubuhay kung wala yung nanay ko,” Maricel added.

The veteran actress only realized her mistakes when her children expressed their concern about her condition.
“Kaya nahihiya ako sa mga anak ko. Worried na worried sila sa akin. Dun na ako nag-umpisang magising. Inayos ko ang sarili ko, tinulungan ako ng mga kaibigan. Gusto ko talaga umalis na doon sa dark place na iyon,” Maricel said.
She was so relieved when ABS-CBN gave her a second chance even after that dark moment in her life.
“Nagpapasalamat ako dahil naiintindihan niyo ako kung saan ako nanggagaling. Nagsabi ako ng totoo. Wala akong itinago,” she said. (TDT)
