Newly-signed Kapuso star Richard Yap explained his reasons why he chose to transfer to the Kapuso network.
“GMA has been there for a long time, and they’ve been doing a lot of shows for a long time,” Yap told Pep.ph.
The actor who rose to fame thanks to his hit Kapamilya series ‘Be Careful With My Heart’ with Jodi Sta. Maria said that switching networks is a logical choice.

“Of course, I will choose a more stable network. Ithink, that’s the main reason for us to choose GMA over other networks,” Yap added.
The actor said that he also received offers from the Kapatid network who also strengthens its entertainment division after ABS-CBN failed to secure a new franchise last year.
“Actually, there’s about two or three offers from different networks. But I think, going to GMA-7 was the easiest choice. The others were just starting out, the others were doing blocktime, while GMA is doing everything by itself,” Yap said.

“So I think, on the practical side, yun talaga ang inisip namin, we’d rather go to the one that is established na. Kasi, yung iba, blocktimer lang, yung iba naman, nag-start pa lang, so, they might find it difficult to go against a big network such as GMA-7,” he added.
The actor said that he is excited on his upcoming projects with the Kapuso network.
“You know what, I’m excited to do a lot of things with Kapuso network because they’ve been opening a lot of interesting avenues for me to do, like, we want to explore other genres that I can come out with,” Yap said. (TDT)
