Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin has urged her fellow celebrities to donate some of their taping beds for the health workers who are working to combat the coronavirus disease or COVID-19.
Locsin said that this is better rather than giving financial aid.
“We’ll refrain from asking you for financial donations. Instead, we would like to ask you for stuff that you already have,” Locsin posted on her Instagram account.
Locsin is also spearheading efforts to build sleeping tents to make sure that health workers have a place to stay and no longer need to worry about going home amid the enhanced community quarantine.
“To my friends in the industry, maybe you can spare your taping beds for our health workers? Also to everyone reading this, if you have available folding beds that we could borrow, we would greatly appreciate it. We’ll name the bed after the donor and you could also write down a note to thank them for their hard work,” Locsin said.
The actress was working with her fiancee Neil Arce and a local government unit on the project. She also thanked some celebrities who donated their taping beds and supported their cause—such as Angelica Panganiban, Anne Curtis, and Bea Alonzo.
“We acknowledge that this is a challenging time for everyone, but we also know that we Filipinos are strong and resilient, especially when united. We made it through Ondoy, Yolanda, Mt. Pinatubo and Taal eruption, and we will surely overcome this as a nation. This is a plea to everyone to support our dear front liners,” Locsin said.
