The shooting for the iconic Pinay superheroine Darna has started:
Film director Jerrold Tarog revealed the development on his Instagram account. Tarog posted a photo of a Darna Funko Pop with a camera background and wrote ‘Day 1’.
Tarog’s fans then wished the director good luck since he took over the directorial job from Erik Matti in 2018.
Darna will be top-billed by newcomer Jane De Leon who gained popularity after she starred in a supporting role in the hit teleserye ‘Halik’.
She also replaced Liza Soberano who decided to back out from the project after sustaining a finger injury while taping the defunct teleserye Bagani.
Nadine Lustre was the favorite to take over the role but the Kapamilya network decided to take a risk and hand it over to a new one after a series of audition.
