Kapuso actress Bianca Umali will play a lead role in the upcoming fantasy thriller series ‘Halfworlds’ Season 3, HBO Asia announced Friday.
Umali is set to portray the heroine named Alex, who is a half-human and half-Engkanto. She “seeks to find the source of a dwindling haven plant,” which has the power to heal the Engkantos’ thirst for human flesh “amidst the war between the Engkangto tribes over the coveted plant and power,” HBO Asia’s description of the eight-episode series reads.
The longest running series of HBO Asia will be directed by esteemed director Mikhail Red and is slated to be shot entirely in the Philippines in January 2020.
Aside from Umali, Kapamilya actor and singer Sam Concepcion will be part of series, along with cast members from previous seasons.
The first season of ‘Halfworlds’ premiered in November 2015. A second season of was announced in July 2016 and premiered in January 2017.
