Moira Dela Torre is the only Filipino nominated at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA).
The prestigious music awarding event will be held in Spain on November 4.
Moira will be competing in the Best Southeast Asia Act against Yuna of Malaysia, Suboi of Vietnam, Rich Brian of Indonesia, Jasmine Sokko of Singapore and Jannine Weigel of Thailand.
“Moira Dela Torre is a singer-songwriter with over 400 million streams on Spotify. She started her year with so many achievements. Last MYX Music Awards 2019, she won Mellow Video of the Year for ‘Tagpuan’ music video with 60.6 million streams on Spotify and 16.7 millions views on YouTube,” MTV said on their website.
Voting is now ongoing for the Best Southeast Asia Act. Sarah Geronimo is the first Filipina to win the award in 2013, and James Reid in 2017.
The singer is also the fifth Filipino to be nominated in the awarding event, the others being Nadine Lustre and IV of Spades.
