TNT Boys’ rendition of National Anthem at PBA opening leaves many disappointed

Many netizens were not pleased with the TNT Boys’ rendition of the Philippine national anthem during the opening ceremony of the 44th season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) held on January 3 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

The TNT Boys, composed of Keifer Sanchez, Mackie Empuerto, and Francis Concepcion, were tappd to sing “Lupang Hinirang”, as well as Jamie Rivera’s “Sino Ako” for the invocation.

However, many netizens said the the trio’s voices did not blend well during the national anthem. Some of them also pointed out that the boys don’t memorize the lyrics and that they cannot reach the high notes of the song they sang during the invocation.

However, there were still some who defended the boys.

Due to the netizens reactions, the TNT Boys took to Twitter to promise that they will do a better job next time.

“Hey it’s okay friends! We practiced for this event. But we did what we were asked for the invocation last minute. We’re reading all your suggestions and we’ll be better next time! Much love,” they said.
