IN PHOTOS: Mavy, Cassy Legaspi’s grand Oscar-themed 18th birthday celebration

Kapuso teen stars Mavy and Cassy Legaspi celebrated their 18th birthday with a luxurious party held at One Canvas Events Place in Makati City on Saturday night, January 12.

In an interview with PEP.ph, the twins gave exclusive details about their Oscar-themed party.

Mavy and Cassy said that they drew the inspiration for their party from their parents Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi’s wedding.

“It’s an Oscar’s awards night-themed party. There will definitely be a red carpet. We chose that theme because when you see it, people dress up, and there will be a lot of colors,” Mavy was quoted as saying.

They also said that they were very hand-on with the preparations for the party.

For their outfits, both Mavy and Cassy wore creations by Francis Libiran. Cassy wore a golden serpentina gown with a sweeping ruffled train, while her brother wore a blue blazer with printed trousers and a pair of sneakers.

Libiran was also the one who designed Carmina’s violet gown and Zoren’s dark blue suit.

Some of the event’s highlights included Cassy’s song performance and their dance number with their parents. The twins also decided not to go with the traditional 18 roses and decided to come up with something that will go with the theme of the party.

“People are calling it as the twins’ debut, but as a brother, I also want to make it as Cassy’s debut. The idea I came up with was 18 awards instead of 18 roses. They go up on stage and they will give a speech.

“I will award someone, but I don’t really want them to say a speech about me. It’s more on me saying thank you to them. Yeah because in a way, they’re also the ones attending,” Mavy said.
