The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will be giving away Dh150,000 to public transport commuters in Dubai in celebration of the 9th Public Transport Day on November 1.
CEO of RTA’s Public Transport Agency and Chairman of the Organising Committee of RTA’s Public Transport Day events, Ahmad Bahrozyan, said that five public transport riders, including one person of determination, will be selected as winners of prizes amounting to Dh100,000.
Five other public transport riders from among RTA employees will be selected as winners of prizes amounting to Dh50,000.
The prizes will come from different events prepared by the RTA in celebration of the public transport day. One of the events include RTA’s goal to break the world record for “the mobility of the largest possible number of multinational riders, comprising the most nationalities, at Etisalat Metro Station.”
Some celebrities will also be riding public transport during the celebration.
Another competition requires students using public transport modes to take one-minute video footages and send them to the RTA’s social media channels for a chance to win prizes.
Bahrozyan added that riders will receive triple loyalty points on NoI Plus if they use public transport from October 22 to November 1.
“It boosts the chances of winning cash prizes and rewards,” said Bahrozyan.
