OFWs can buy items for as low as Dh1 in these grocery discount stores in UAE

Every overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in the UAE has their own hack to cut down their expenses to save more money. Here is a tip that you may not know about but can make sure that you will have enough money to last till the end of the month.

The Jamal Abdul Nasser Street in Sharjah is a home to a number of grocery discount stores offering consumers food items for as low as Dh1, reported Gulf News.

The food items sold in these stores are near their expiration date so to avoid letting the food go to waste, many sellers opt to sell them at cheap prices.

The items either have individual discounts or are sold in packages or bulks allowing consumers to have big savings.

The edibility of the food items range from two days to weeks. While they are close to being spoiled, they are still safe for consumption.

Some of the items for sale include biscuits, chocolates, frozen products, fruit juices, and dairy products such as cheese and yogurt, among others. Some items are also sold as packages such as spaghetti sauce and cooking oils.
