The UAE has been experiencing heavy rains since the weekend due to Cyclone Mekunu and it is expected to carry on today, May 27.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) said that rain and thunderstorm will continue on Sunday and Monday, mostly in the eastern and southern areas, as Cyclone Mekunu weakens.
Cyclone Mekunu leaves at least 10 people dead in Oman and Yemen and 40 others reported missing from the Yemeni island of Socotra.
The NCM also advised motorists to be careful on the road as there will be poor visibility of less than 2,000 meters.
Cyclone Mekunu has caused a flash flood in Oman causing the death of at least six individuals. According to the latest update, at least 30 people have been reported missing due to the said calamity.
Moreover, NCM announced on Twitter that some areas in the UAE will experience partly cloudy and hazy weather today, May 27.
The weather bureau added that there will be light to moderate winds in general, freshening at times that can cause blowing sand over exposed areas.
Meanwhile, sea condition is seen to be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
