READ: Ethel Booba gives two cents on Kuwait rescue operations

Ethel Booba has once again shared on Twitter one of her famous “Charot” tweets, this time to talk about the recent issue regarding the rescue of overseas Filipino workers in Kuwait.

These past few weeks, tension between the Philippines and Kuwait further increased after videos of a rescue operation conducted by the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait spread online.

The videos showed Filipino representatives from the Philippine Embassy going to houses of the employers of OFWs who were allegedly victims of physical and sexual abuse.

Ethel then took to Twitter to give her two cents about the highly debated topic, saying that there are things that should be kept private and should not be shared online. Being the comic person shs is, she then related the topic to one of the issue

“Bakit kailangan videohan at i-upload sa FB ‘yang pag-rescue sa mga OFW sa Kuwait? Di lahat ng bagay dapat i-post gaya noong nangyare sa aking video scandal. Oo, trending at maraming views pero nagdulot lang ng kahihiyan. Charot!” Ethel wrote.

The 41-year-old comedian was referring to her video scandal which also involved her ex-boyfriend Alex Crisano that circulated in 2005.

Kuwait previously said that conducting operations to help domestic helpers escape from their employers is a “serious offense”, and that they consider the said operation as “inappropriate” and a “threat to Kuwait’s sovereignty.”

After the videos spread online, the Kuwaiti government expelled Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait Renato Villa and declared him persona non grata which caused him to give up his position.
