Lyca Gairanod: Where is she now?

It has been almost four years since Lyca Gairanod impressed everyone with her singing skills and won the first season of The Voice Kids Philippines, a singing competition on ABS-CBN.

Before she joined The Voice Kids, Gairanod used to collect plastic, newspapers, and other recyclable scraps to help her family.

She was only 9 years old when she stepped on The Voice’s stage and belted out Aegis’ classic rock song “Halik”, which earned her a spot in Sarah Geronimo’s team.

Her last major TV appearance was when she joined the Philippine version of “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids”. Ever since, she has not made much appearance on Philippine television. However, based on her online activities, she is currently focused with her studies.

She also posts music covers and vlogs (video blogs) on YouTube.

After her victory, Gairanod’s life changed 360 degrees, and all of her dreams, which at one point seemed far-fetched, became a reality.

She now stands as her family’s breadwinner and, at the young age of 13, she has already bought a car and a house for them.

Gairanod has also appeared on several TV shows in the Philippines such as “Hawak-Kamay”, “Maalaala Mo Kaya”, “Goin’ Bulilit”, “ASAP”, and “It’s Showtime”.
