Teacher arrested in Dubai after texting sexual messages to student
A 46-year-old Filipino teacher in Dubai had admitted before the Dubai prosecutors that he harassed his female student through sending sexual messages which caused her to express suicidal thoughts.
The teacher admitted that he sent inappropriate text messages to his grade six female student on July 11.
He said that he got the girl’s number after he assigned his students a project on their computer class.
“The girl got in touch with me on WhatsApp about the project, and that’s when I started asking her to send inappropriate pictures of herself,” Khaleej Times quoted him as saying.
The girl’s Syrian mother found out about the Filipino teacher’s indecent act. “I discovered he was sending inappropriate sexual messages and images of sexual content over WhatsApp. I contacted the school’s principal who coordinated with us so we could take the appropriate measures,” she said.
The mother also said the Filipino asked her daughter to send inappropriate photos of herself.
She also said that her daughter had a sudden change on her physical and mental behavior as she expressed her suicidal thoughts to her teachers and classmates.
“I watched my daughter closely and it was clear to us that she was facing psychological and physical pressures that we couldn’t understand. She consistently complained of pain in different parts of her body,” she said.
Investigators found out in a medical check-up that the girl only received verbal sexual abuse from the teacher and no physical abuse.
