21 drug suspects killed in 9 hours
The Philippine National Police (PNP) conducted 26 simultaneous anti-drug operation across Bulacan province, which left 21 suspected drug offenders dead. Records show that it is the highest death toll registered in a single day since President Rodrigo Duterte initiated his war on drugs, but PNP said the number of deaths in normal.

9 charged in P6.4-B drug smuggling
The Anti-Organized and Transnational Crime Division of the National Bureau of Investigation has filed criminal charges against businessman Dong Yi Shen and eight other persons linked with the shipment of P6.4 billion worth of illegal drugs from China last May. Shen, Chen Min, Jhu Ming Jyun, Chen Ju Long, Li Guang Feng, Mark Ruben Taguba II, Teejay Marcellana, Fidel Anoche Dee, and Eirene Mae Agustino Tatad were charged under the section 4 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 or the Republic Act 9165.

2 poultry workers being monitored
As part of the government agencies’ efforts to prevent the avian flu from spreading and affecting humans, the Department of Health is closely monitoring two poultry workers in Pampanga for showing symptoms of avian flu. DOH spokesman Eric Tayag said one of the workers had a cough while the other had fever. Both are symptoms of being infected by avian flu. DOH currently awaits the results of laboratory tests on the swab and blood samples from the workers.

Commission on Elections Chairman Juan Andres “Andy” Bautista” remained firm that he will not step down from his position as head of the poll body amid her wife, Patricia Bautista’s, claims that he amassed nearly P1 billion in ill-gotten wealth and getting commissions or referral fees. Patricia recently disclosed that Andy received P500,000 in referral fees from Smartmatic Corp through DivinaLaw.
