MANILA: With the announcement of the top 12 on Sunday, the contestants of reality talent search “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” have been further trimmed down.
Judges Vice Ganda, Sandara Park, Aga Muhlach and Yeng Constantino named nine of the top 12 contestants, while the female fans were also given the chance to vote for three contestants who will be part of the top 12, reported ABS-CBN News.
The contestants, who will be performing in the next round, include Joao Constancia, Allen Cecilio, Niel Murillo, Tony Labrusca, Miko Juarez, Russel Reyes, Henz Villaraiz, Mark Oblea, Markus Paterson, Tristan Ramirez, James Ryan Cesena and Ford Valencia, the report said.
Before the top 12 were named, the five groups first performed boy band hits for the Middle Rounds.
Three groups performed on Saturday. The first group, composed of Joshua, Henz, Luigi, Joao and Mark performed “Sukob Na,” said the news portal
Gabriel, Isaiah, Russell, Wilbert and Markus reportedly performed N’Sync’s “This I Promise You.” Niel, Keanno, Raynald, Raymond and Allen, on the other hand, performed “Love Me for a Reason.”
The fourth group, composed of Ford, Tony, Jindric, Angelo and Jimsen, went for the OPM hit “Nanghihinayang.” The last group, whose members were from the competition’s bottom 20, performed “Uptown Girl,” reported ABS-CBN News.
The top 12 will be performing live starting next week, the report said.
