Craving a snack? Silvanas might just hit the spot! This year, the Philippines’ Silvanas ranked 25th in the Top 100 Cookies in the World 2024, making it undeniably one of the country’s finest treats.
According to TasteAtlas, an online travel guide renowned for authentic, traditional foods worldwide, the Philippines’ Silvanas is a delightful snack that has a similar taste profile to Sans rival.

TasteAtlas wrote: “Silvanas are the snack version of a traditional Filipino dessert known as sans rival. These frozen cookie sandwiches are made with two cashew-meringue wafers that are held together with a thick layer of buttercream and are generously coated in cashew crumbs.”
“Although plain versions are the most common, silvanas occasionally come in various flavors such as chocolate, strawberry, mocha, or mango. Popular throughout the country, these cookies have to be refrigerated and are best served well-chilled or frozen,” it added.
Among the 100 cookies on the list, the Philippines’ Silvanas had a score of 4 out of 5. It was also the only Philippine cookie that made the list.

In previous years, other Filipino desserts like sorbetes and halo-halo were recognized by TasteAtlas as among the world’s best-frozen desserts. Bibingka also made it to the list of top 20 cakes globally.
