The famous Burj Khalifa paid homage to Queen Elizabeth II, the British longest monarch who died at the age of 96, in a special lightshow on Sunday.
The world’s tallest building projected a photo of Queen Elizabeth as well as the British national flag.
On Twitter, Emaar said: “Burj Khalifa lights up to extend our deepest condolences for the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.”

Last September 8, a number of landmarks in Abu Dhabi including the Khalifa University and Mubadala Tower bathed in purple color in memory of the monarch.

Elsewhere, numerous global monuments have also projected the British queen’s image and UK flag colors.
Parliament Hill in Ontario, Canada lit up in purple and projected the royal cypher of the queen.
The Sydney Opera House paid tribute by projecting her image on its sails.
A tower in Kuwait illuminated with an image of Queen Elizabeth.
As of this writing, Queen Elizabeth’s coffin arrived at Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh from her beloved Balmoral estate.
Large crowd of mourners lined the roads to pay respect during the funeral procession.
The late British monarch’s funeral is set to take place on Monday, 19 September, in Buckingham Palace. H.M. King Charles III has declared the day of the funeral a bank holiday in the United Kingdom.
