Jobseeker in Abu Dhabi drowns at Corniche Beach

A Ugandan national who had gone to the UAE to look for a job drowned at Abu Dhabi Corniche beach.

Joel Kamoga, also known as ‘Morgan’ among his peers, went to the beach together with his friends last September 6 and drowned while they were swimming.

The 25-year-old had only been in Abu Dhabi for two months on a visit visa in his hopes to find a job to provide for his family, specifically his mother and his siblings.

The Ugandan embassy in Abu Dhabi verified Kamoga’s death and has already issued the essential documentation for the repatriation procedure to the families after obtaining the death certificate from the Department of Health-Abu Dhabi, as per reports from Khaleej Times.

The family, in collaboration with the Ugandan community in Abu Dhabi, is currently preparing to repatriate his body.
