NBI arrests woman who scammed OFWs, other Filipinos in P500-M worth of investments

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested a woman suspected of taking up to P500 million from her investment scam victims, which included some overseas Filipino workers.

Jennifer Gumapos, the suspect, was arrested in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, during an entrapment operation as per reports from GMA Regional TV.

The operation was reportedly carried out by the NBI after Gumapos’ alleged victims raced to their office, including OFW Amanda, not her real name, who invested P1.9 million in Gumapos.
