A British man has been ordered by an Abu Dhabi court to pay AED 500,000 fine for raising a false bomb alarm that led to the cancellation of a flight.
The accused refused to board the plane — due to depart from Abu Dhabi International Airport to Manchester, England — telling an airline employee about the bomb, media reports said.

The security team at Abu Dhabi Airport were immediately alerted and the plane was evacuated.
Passengers and crew were searched, while all bags and cargo were unloaded and inspected. The plane was also scanned by an explosives’ inspection and disposal unit.
The court also ordered the deportation of the accused after the required amount was paid in accordance with Article 324 of Penal Law No. 31 of 2021.
