President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Communications Secretary Martin Andanar as acting presidential spokesperson to replace Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles.
Andanar’s appointment was confirmed by an advisory released by Malacañang on Tuesday.

Nograles was recently appointed as the chairperson of the Civil Service Commission. He took an oath before President Duterte.
Andanar will be holding his first press briefing with NEDA on Tuesday.

He will be the fifth presidential spokesperson since Duterte assumed office in 2016.
Previous spokespersons were Ernesto Abella, Harry Roque, Salvador Panelo and Nograles.
