Presidential aspirant and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said that he will vote for President Rodrigo Duterte, who is seeking a senate seat in the 2022 elections.
Moreno also bared that his political party is willing to adopt Duterte to be part of his senate slate as a guest candidate.
‘’I’m going to vote for him personally and I’m going to endorse him, hopefully kung papayag siya, I’d be humbled and honored,” Moreno said in an interview in Cebu.
Moreno also defended his pronouncement on why he is voting for Duterte even if they had traded strong words in the past.
“Bakit hindi? I think, well hindi natin pwedeng tawaran ‘yong kanyang kakayahan, he is a qualified candidate for the Senate,” Moreno said.
Moreno and Duterte had a word war over some policies in the government’s COVID-19 response.
The Manila mayor previously denied that he is the secret candidate of Duterte.
