The Sultanate of Oman announced that only travellers who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will be allowed into the country from September 1.
Visitors are required to undergo a PCR test prior to travel and on their arrival in the Sultanate, while a seven-day quarantine with positive PCR test report is must for all. A PCR test is required on the eighth day.
According to the Omani authorities they have also eased a curfew imposed to combat the spread of COVID-19 by reopening public buildings, malls and restaurants and resumed public events. The authorities have shut down shops and closed all commercial activities shuttered between 8 pm and 4 am since May.
A general framework for operating schools in the Sultanate during the year 2021- 2022 has also been worked out which requires adherence to the precautionary measures in the health protocol to preserve the safety of male and female students and members of the teaching and administrative staff.
