Zamboanga Sibugay vice mayor Restituto Colange was shot dead along with two other individuals by an unidentified gunman in the town’s municipal hall in Barangay Poblacion, Mabuhay.
Based on local media reports, Mabuhay police initially reported that Vice Mayor Calonge was near the Mabuhay Municipal Hall having a conversation with two other persons.
The official was talking to Engineer Edgar Pampanga and Hdj. Abduhari Gapor when they were shot using a cal. 45 pistol.
The vice mayor was declared dead on the spot while Pampanga and Gapor were rushed to the hospital.
The gunman fled the scene with a motorcycle described as black Honda, according to witnesses.
The Mabuhay police are currently conducting hot pursuit operations while nearby police stations are directed to conduct checkpoints.
