Senator Win Gatchalian was surprised to see that his credit card was used to order food in a food delivery application amounting to Php1 million.
“My credit card has just been hacked! May nag order ng P1M worth of food sa Food Panda in less than an hour. Ano yan lauriat para sa buong barangay???” Gatchalian said on Twitter.
The senator showed the transaction, which took place on January 5.
The four transactions ranged from PHP96,265 to PHP356,517.
“The hacker managed to change my registered phone number, so he got the OTPs. He knew what he was doing. I just don’t know how he will eat a million worth of food,” the senator said.
The senator said that he didn’t notice that someone was changing his registered phone number because he was in a Senate hearing.
A PHP60,000 worth of food transaction went through that is why he immediately called the bank.
He added that he will not pay the amount charged on his credit card.
(TDT)
