A woman who received insulting text messages from a man via WhatsApp will soon get AED 10,000 as compensation.
The Abu Dhabi Court of Appeals upheld the decision ordering the man to pay the sum, in addition to a four per cent annual interest if the man delays payments any further.

Court sources reveal that the woman filed the case against the man, initially seeking AED 100,000 for the insulting messages, and an additional nine per cent interest on top of it for delaying payments.
Earlier, the Court of First Instance in Abu Dhabi sentenced a guilty verdict to the man who sent the messages, ordering him to pay the compensation that was upheld by the Abu Dhabi Court of Appeals.

The woman sought higher compensation and attempted to appeal against the decision but was rejected. The Court of Appeals stated that the woman failed to provide any information that warrants an increase for the compensation.
