Two people died and another sustained a major injury after their overspeeding car met an accident along Mahafiz-Nazwa Road in Sharjah on Monday.
The car was almost totally wrecked due to the incident.
According to Lt. Col. Mohammed Abdullah Alay, Director of Traffic and Patrol Department at Sharjah Police, the car overturned on one lane of the road past 4:00p.m.
The driver and his two companies were immediately rescued and brought to the nearest hospital. However, two of them were later declared dead.
It was not immediately clear who among the three died.
According to initial investigation, the tire of the car burst due to excessive speeding.
The police urge all motorists to adhere to allowed road speed to prevent any unfortunate incident. Drivers are also advised to check the condition of their vehicles before they hit the road.
