64-year-old man charged over Lucky Plaza crash that killed 2 Filipinas

A 64-year-old man whose car rammed into six women in the Lucky Plaza crash, killing two Filipina maids on December 29 last year, is now facing three counts of dangerous driving charges in Singapore, according to The Straits Times.

Malaysian Chong Kim Hoe allegedly accelerated while making a U-turn along near the mall at around 5pm that day and collided into the six victims who are all Filipinas.

Chong’s bail was set at $15,000 or approximately Php728,445 on Wednesday.

The pre-trial will start on September 25.

If proven guilty, the defendant will face a jail term of up to eight years for each charge.

Among the fatalities in the deadly crash were Abigail Danao Leste, 41, and Arlyn Picar Nucos, 50.

Nucos’ sister, Arceli Picar Nucos, 56, was among those who were griviously injured along with Egnal Layugan Limbauan and Laila Flores Laudencia, both 44, and Demet Limbauan Limbauan, 37.
