A Filipina house helper filed assault charges against a maintenance worker in Dubai for allegedly groping her last July.
The 25-year-old man, who was only identified as Asian in public prosecution records, was hired by the Filipina’s employer to do a repair work in their bathroom, reported Khaleej Times.
The Filipina was asked by her employer to check the progress of the repair job as he was out at that time.
When she went to the bathroom, the Filipina said she was shocked when he suddenly “touched me repeatedly”.
“I got shocked when he suddenly touched me repeatedly. I stepped out and moved to the living room. A few minutes later, he came to me and told me that he was done. I told him to leave the house.”
Her Arab employer helped the Filipina to file a police report at Al Barsha police station.
The defendant was detained while the case is ongoing.
During the latest hearing, the employer said in court that the Filipina was trembling while talking to her on the phone after what happened.
Another trial is set on August 27.
