The Department of Health has revealed that there are now 193 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease or COVID-19 in the country.
Seven of them recovered while 14 have died due to the disease according to Health Undersecretary Ma. Rosario Vergeire.
The DOH said that cases in the Philippines could go up to 75,000 if the necessary intervention will not be successful.
The country is now under the State of Calamity as declared by President Rodrigo Duterte. The entire Luzon province is also under enhanced community quarantine.
The enhanced community quarantine means that strict home quarantine is being observed, mass transportation is suspended and all forms of travel are restricted.
Front liners or those who are working in the medical field and sectors in charge of the basic necessities are the only ones being allowed during the quarantine period.
