The Department of Health has confirmed that one of their officials has tested positive for coronavirus disease or COVID-19.
“Opo mayroong isang kawani ng kagawaran natin na naging positibo,” Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in an interview on ABS-CBN.
“Siya po ay isang direktor sa aming central office ng DOH. Pero hindi po totoo na ‘yung isa pa hong nare-report ay positibo rin,” she said.
Vergeire said that the director is a 50-year-old male.
The DOH said that there is no truth in messages that two of their officials tested positive for the virus.
The health official warns the public on spreading false information amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
