Filipino boxer defends IBF minimum weight championship title

Filipino boxer Pedro Taduran retained his IBF minimum weight championship in Guadalupe on Saturday evening (Sunday, PH Time).
Taduran beat Mexican boxer Daniel Valladares through a majority decision draw, says a report by ABS-CBN News. A majority decision draw means that Taduran keeps his title.
The Mexican boxer had a cut over his right eye when he had an accidental clash of heads with Taduran after four rounds of battle.
It was the ringside doctor who decided that the cut was too deep for Valladares to continue the fight.
This was Taduran’s first successful defense of the title following his win last September 2019. His boxing record is now 14-2-1.
