Police in Louisiana shared the video footage of an SUV that rolled backwards and crossed over a highway with a chihuahua on the wheel.

According to the Slidell Police Department, the chihuahua onboard the SUV put the vehicle in reverse.
This made the vehicle roll backwards and crossed over the 4-lane highway of Gause Boulevard before it came to rest at the gas station across the street.
In the video, it can be seen that the owner of the SUV tried to open the door of the car in order to stop the vehicle. The owner did sustain a minor injury while doing this.
Slidell Police Department also said that the vehicle also had a mechanical issue, which allowed the transmission to change gears without sometimes having to press the brake.
“It is a miracle that no one was seriously injured and that no other vehicles were struck during this incident,” the police said.
However, they cautioned everyone to let this be a lesson when leaving pets inside your vehicle.
