The Ninoy Aquino International Aiport (NAIA) Terminal 4 did not escape the impact of heavy rains that came with the southwest monsoon and was flooded yesterday.
A video taken by Boy London showed the airport terminal in flood water.
Another netizen shared a video showing the water reaching the first level of the aircraft’s stairway.
Some flights were cancelled due to bad weather while others have been delayed.
Ed Monreal, Manila International Airport general manager said flash flood occurred at the terminal as it is the lowest area of the ramp from Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 and appeared to be like a catch basin.
Monreal added that pumping stations were not able to manage the volume of water resulting to overflow.
