Davao-bound passenger found dead at NAIA restroom

Manila, Philippines– A man was found “unresponsive” and declared dead inside a restroom cubicle at the Ninoy Aquino International Airpor (NAIA) Terminal 3, Sunday.

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) reported that a janitor saw the man enter the restroom and alerted the authorities when the man didn’t come out.

MIAA identified the man as Richard Alexander Parenas, who apparently went to the restroom past 6 a.m.

In a statement, MIAA’s medical team said Parenas was found on a toilet seat, “unresponsive to any form of verbal or physical stimulation, with dilated pupils and was without a pulse, spontaneous breathing or heartbeat.”

Parenas died of cardio-respiratory arrest with unknown cause, it was later gathered.

Parenas was bound for Davao. His body was claimed by Veronica Funeral Homes.
