Chin-Chin Gutierrez leaves showbiz to become a nun?

Rumor has it that Chin-Chin Gutierrez who became popular celebrity in the 90s has decided to leave her high-profile career in the entertainment industry to fulfill her true calling and become a nun.

It was in 2010 when Gutierrez announced that she will be retiring from showbiz despite the countless television and movie projects, as well as product endorsements that were coming her way that time.

When she left show business, she first worked as an environmentalist and resource speaker, but now it is reported that Gutierrez is now a religious nun.

It was in 2013 when Gutierrez first made entertainment news headlines which claimed that she has entered the convent of the Carmelite Sisters.

Six years after the rumors started to spread, new claims reveal that Gutierrez has become Sister Lourdes, although no one can confirm if this is true or not.

Gutierrez’s former manager Anjie Ureta has already debunked the claims several years ago saying that his former talent is merely serving in the Carmelite Convent as an ecological lay worker.

He also said that the term “Sister” is “widely used in church-based community work as a sign of confraternity.”

Fans are also not sure if Gutierrez is truly a religious nun by now since her Facebook profile states that “she is a highly sought-after resource speaker and lecturer for Environmental Education, lending her expertise to a broad range of issues related to ecology and conservation, like Ecological Waste Management, Sustainable Development, Ecology and Spirituality, The Integrity of Creation, Sustainable Consumer Lifestyles, Women and the Environment, among others.”

Gutierrez first rose to prominence in the 90s after appearing on several films and television series, including, “Bakit Labis kitang Mahal”, “Melinda”, “Desaparacido”, and “Di na Natuto (Sorry na, Pwede ba?)”.
