The Civil Aeronautics Board has reduced the fuel surcharge level for airlines from Level 19 to Level 18 for the period May 1 to 15, 2026.
Under the new level, fuel surcharges for domestic flights will range from ₱593 to ₱1,734, while international flights will carry charges between ₱1,958.44 and ₱14,561.87, depending on distance.
This marks a slight decrease from the previous Level 19 rates, offering modest relief to air travelers.
Fuel surcharge is an additional fee imposed by airlines to offset fluctuations in global oil prices, which directly affect operating costs.
The CAB said the adjustment is part of its ongoing 15-day monitoring cycle aimed at managing the impact of fuel price volatility on airfare.
The agency added that the interim measure will remain in place until market conditions stabilize or further adjustments are made.
Airlines seeking to implement the surcharge are required to file applications with the CAB before the start of the covered period.
