Saudi Arabia has deployed mobile passport counter devices to streamline the arrival of pilgrims for the upcoming Hajj season.
The initiative is led by the General Directorate of Passports and covers airports, land borders, and seaports across the country.
The mobile units use advanced biometric technology to capture facial images, scan passports, and process traveler data on the spot, significantly reducing waiting times during peak arrivals.
Officials said the system is designed to ease congestion and improve efficiency, particularly for elderly pilgrims and persons with disabilities who may require additional assistance.
The rollout forms part of broader preparations for Hajj 2026, as Saudi Arabia expects millions of pilgrims to arrive.
Authorities are also expanding digital infrastructure, crowd management systems, and transport logistics to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage experience.
