Kian autopsy points to ‘intentional killing’  

    An autopsy report suggests that 17-year-old Kian Loyd delos Santos, who was killed in a drug bust operation on August 16, was a victim of “intentional killing,” contrary to police’s claims that he fought back. Public Attorney’s Office medicolegal officer Erwin Erfe said delos Santos was shot three times and his shooter was standing above him. Erfe said the autopsy report showed the victim did not sustain bruises, which could suggest that he resisted.

Duterte OKs joint venture with China  

 

Triathletes Nikko Huelgas and Kim Mangrobang gave the Philippines’ second and third gold medals in the 29th Southeast Asian Games. Huelgas finished the race at 1:59:21 mark ahead of fellow Filipino triathlete John Chicano, who placed second with 2:01:26 record. Mangrobang also dominated the women’s leg with 2:18:58 record.

Duterte accepts Faeldon resignation

 

President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency chief Isidro Lapeña as the new Bureau of Customs commissioner, replacing embattled Nicanor Faeldon. In a press conference, Duterte said he is confident that Lapeña could work to “reorganize the bureau”. Faeldon’s resignation amid the issue on P6.4 billion illegal drug smuggling from China in May. Meanwhile, Philippine National Police-Southern Luzon Regional director Chief Supperintendent Aaron Aquino would take over Lapeña’s post, Duterte said.

PH bags more gold medals

The Philippines’ triathlete delegation hauled two gold and two silver medals in the 29th Southeast Asian Games. Nikko Huelgas and Kim Mangrobang dominated the men’s and women’s division, respectively. Meanwhile, John Chicano and 28th SEA Games gold medalist Maria Claire Adorna placed behind Huelgas and Mangrobang. The 1-2 finishes brought PH to a 3-6-6 gold-silver-bronze medal standing.
