An overwhelming support flood social media sites over the weekend for the 17-year-old Australian who slammed an egg on Queensland Senator Fraser Anning’s head while speaking at an event in Moorabbin on Saturday.
To recall, Anning released a statement blaming the Islamic community for the New Zealand mosque shooting that left 51 dead and couple of dozens seriously injured, saying that Muslims are “appalling, ugly and have no place in Australia.”
Anning’s powerful word and hateful take on the tragedy apparently fueled the young man, William Connolly, to hit him with an egg.
Here's a video of Anning getting egged – the kid walked right up, got his phone out, started recording, and calmly cracked the egg on Fraser's head https://t.co/KhC07yPhjy

In several video clips circulation online, Connolly was seen calmly walking behind the senator before whipped out his phone and cracked an egg right on Anning’s noggin.
The teenager was arrested for the act, and has since been released pending further inquiries. Since then there has been an outpouring of support for Connolly.
The video has made him an online sensation overnight and a hero among the Islamic community and non-Muslim alike.
There’s been a GoFundMe set up to pay for Connolly’s legal fees plus “more eggs”. Despite being live for less than 24 hours, it’s already surpassed its $2,000 goal by $12,000.
Also, in Iess than 24 hours, Connolly’s Instagram has skyrocketed from a couple of hundred followers to 197,000 with every one of his photos adorned with well wishes from fans.
