Separate attacks on Iran’s parliament and the tomb of the country’s revolutionary founder, Ayatollah Khomeini, by gunmen killed two people and wounded eight others on Wednesday.
The fatalities were a security at the parliament in Tehran and a gardener at the mausoleum of Khomeini, according to reports.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks, though authorities suspect the Islamic State is behind the terrorism.
A witnesses told police three or four gunmen opened fire at the mausoleum and a female suicide bomber blew herself up outside the shrine.
About four men also entered the parliament and started shooting inside the building. The gunmen then fled.
