Duterte and Robredo sat one seat apart during PMA rites

President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice president Leni Robredo shared a single stage during the Philippine Military Academy’s (PMA) graduation rites Sunday morning.

Following months of a strained relationship between the country’s two highest government officials, with Robredo quitting her Cabinet post, the two crossed paths again as they both attended the commencement ceremonies in Baguio City.

A video clip courtesy of ABS-CBN shows Duterte and Robredo exchanged pleasantries and even shook hands before taking their respective seats – which was only a single chair apart.

Sitting in between the president and the vice president was Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.

Duterte, being the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines is the guest of honor at the event.

He also presented the presidential saber to Cadet First Class Rovi Martinez, who ranked first among the 167 graduating cadets. Robredo, on the other hand, presented the vice presidential saber to class salutatorian, Cadet First Class Philip Viscaya.
