The UAE government’s recent announcement states that the National Sterilization Programme has concluded, which covers the Abu Dhabi emirate as residents are now rid of any movement restrictions within the emirate.
Residents are free to exit the emirate with no restrictions. However, the Abu Dhabi government has retained restrictions on limited movement for those who are coming from outside the emirate.

Particular exceptions who can acquire a special permit include employees in the vital sectors, chronic disease patients visiting hospitals, as well as those transporting necessary goods.
Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, the official spokesperson for the UAE’s National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), stated that individuals are reminded to continue practising the country’s preventive measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“We urge the public to continue to follow health practices and abide by the precautionary measures taken by #UAEGov to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. We remind the public to continue to avoid gatherings and family visits, follow social distancing guidelines and continue to wear face masks when leaving home,” said Dr. Al Dhaheri.
